Red Hot Chili Peppers shut it down in Miami!!
– review of the show at American Airlines Arena (Miami).
Wrapping up their Florida dates on their current tour, RHCP had fans pack every inch of the arena. The show kicked off with a jam by Flea on the bass, Chad Smith on the drums and Josh Klinghoffer on the guitar before front-man Anthony Kiedis came out to perform Can’t Stop. The lighting at this concert was unlike anything I have ever seen before. Hundreds of tubes of lights hung above the band and throughout the crowd. The lights were set up to make different shapes including a wave and something that looked similar to a butterfly, which also changed colors throughout the show.
Their set featured a number of hits including: Snow (Hey Oh), Scar Tissue, Californication, Tell Me Baby and their latest hit Dark Necessities. As the show came to a close with By the Way, RHCP walked off the stage only to be lured back for an encore by the crowd’s sea of cellphone lights and chants of “one more song.” Never one to disappoint their fans, they came back with Goodbye Angels and Give it Away. As I was leaving the concert there were endless smiles, laughter and excitement from their fans. Personally, this was my first time seeing Red Hot Chili Peppers and I would jump at the opportunity to do it again; it was an amazing concert.
The opening acts included Jack Irons, the band’s former drummer and Babymetal, coming all the way from Japan.
