Spread the Dub, our residing local jam band, has gone through band member changes, but haven’t changed their impeccable sound. Their name says exactly what you can expect, dub at its finest and most trance-like. The floor still wasn’t as packed as large shows would be, but the fact that I still had to bob and weave through the crowd made me realize the large pull of attraction this band has on the local dub scene.
Finally, as the final band took the stage, the place looked right with all the bodies packed in. The Movement is a band I previously have never heard, but half way through the set list I was singing along to choruses and pretending like I was there on purpose. This band has one of the smoothest and most mellow sounds I have ever been introduced to. Known for playing festivals, they are usually one band out of a hundred. But here in this atmosphere, they were center stage and definitely the main attraction.
