Buffalo Wild Wings

Written by Shaps
Everything you want a sports bar to be.
-review of the sports bar on I-Drive (Orlando).
With a collection of 16 wing sauces and 4 seasoned rubs, there’s a flavor for everybody at Buffalo Wild Wings. Visitors have the option of the mild-mannered Sweet BBQ to the fiery red-hot Blazin sauce. Be warned the Blazin sauce is so mouth-numbing hot that if you’re able to devour 12 of those wings in under six minutes, then you’re experience will be captured in a photo. My colleague took the dare, but only made it through three of them.

Thankfully, before taking the dare (well just him), we enjoyed several other items including their large sampler. In it, was several crisp nachos, mouth-watering onion rings, mozzarella sticks and of course six of their award-winning wings of your flavor choice. On the humble advice of one of their team members, we first tried the Asian Zing on boneless wings. Blended with a chili pepper, soy and ginger sauce, it was the perfect balance between sweet and spicy. However, for me personally, the Caribbean Jerk was far and away the best, although my colleague countered with the Italian herb inspired Parmesan Garlic. Seriously, you might not find a more stomach-filling, lip-smacking spice at any Caribbean-based restaurant, let alone an entertaining sports bar.

Littered with large flat screen HD TVs, the restaurant hosts nearly every sporting event including the fast-rising and ever-popular UFC events. Yet, if that wasn’t enough guests can also put their sports knowledge to the test with their Buzztime Trivia game. Just make sure to ask your server for one of the hand held devices.

It should be noted that while we divulged almost solely in wings, the restaurant also is well known for its burgers and especially their wraps. However, shrimp, ribs, quesadillas, flatbreads and salads are another option on the menu. Of course what night out would be complete without dessert and as their menu dubs it for their chocolate fudge cake, it really is a “first place finish.” With an avalanche of chocolate oozing out at every scrumptious bite, there’s a good chance you want be able to take a breath…it’s that good.

All in all Buffalo Wild Wings is like a Mecca of sports bars, their only downside is they haven’t opened up everywhere within reasonable distance. At least when I’m in Orlando I know where I’m looking to head for a late bite.

Buffalo Wild Wings has been satisfying customers since 1981 and continues to expand across the country. Recently, they opened a massive restaurant nearby the University of Central Florida. The new facility measures 7,700 square foot with a 2,850 square foot outdoor patio/bar. It includes approximately 50 video monitors and 17 large video screens, including one that is 30 feet in diameter, among the biggest screens at any restaurant/sports bar in the country
