Mark “Super” Duper & Chef Rey De La Osa are the fan-favorite this year at the annual culinary competition.
The Gridiron Grill-Off Food & Wine Festival is considered the “best value” food and wine festival in South Florida! Featuring a Grill-Off competition with NFL legends and celebrity Chef’s from South Florida’s finest restaurants, it’s no wonder that attendees return year after year. Fans spend the afternoon listening to live music from some of today’s best up and coming artists, sampling gourmet food grilled to perfection, premium wine & spirits and competing with their favorite NFL Players in the annual Cornhole Tournament. It’s a celebration where celebrity, competition & charity collide. This year’s pairings included former Dolphins: Jim Jensen, Nat Moore, Twan Russell, Mark Higgs, Mercury Morris, Jim Kiick, Troy Stradford, Louis Oliver, Lorenzo Hampton, Don McNeal, Terry Kirby, Larry Little, Keith Sims, AJ Duhe, OJ McDuffie, Mark Duper, Jeff Cross and Dave Shula.
Tickets to the Festival events were ALL-INCLUSIVE. Your ticket price included a wine glass compliments of IKEA to use throughout your day of sampling and take home with you at the end. VIP ticket holders also received early entry, special access and gifts not available to the general public.
The 8th annual Gridiron Grill-Off, held at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater, teams up the top chefs in South Florida with NFL legends like Zach Thomas and Sam Madison, to create signature grilled dishes, like Chipotle Wagyu Ribs served with Rustic Kale Salad, for you to taste. However, this year the top prize, chosen by those indulging in the items, was the team of Mark “Super” Duper & Chef Rey De La Osa for Publix Apron’s Cooking School.
100% of the Gridiron Grill-Off net proceeds benefits Offerdahl’s Hand-Off Foundation and their mission to “Feed the Need of Those in Crisis” in partnership with business, government, civic and faith-based organizations.
